Featured Food: Pork Belly

Don’t get me wrong I still believe bacon can make anything better, but as a foodie when I’m watching the cooking channel my mouth salvates and my tastes buds yearn for the whole pork belly. Poor pork tends to get a bad wrap and is snubbed in the list of ‘acceptable’ protein. I mean bacon has been replaced with turkey bacon as a ‘healthier’ choice. What? What the hell is turkey bacon? Give me the real thing please. Find a friendly trusty farmer and get your pork on. Besides of course providing protein and amino acid, here are some of the other nutrients you’ll find:

  • Thiamin (B vitamin)
  • vitamin B2
  • vitamin B3
  • magnesium
  • iron
  • zinc
  • phosphorus
