Blog by Brittany: This past week was not my mother’s birthday, but my nephew’s Trenton. What does that mean? Celebration and parties of course! This can be the downfall of many a Body Changer, as it is American tradition for celebration to focus and center on food. No event is complete without some significant food (weddings and birthdays have the featured cakes, Christmas cookies and Thanksgiving noodles) and can be an Achilles heel for those wishing to change their bodies because they had to have that slice of cake at the birthday party. Well In our family, one party is not going to detour from our fat-burner lifestyle and our menu is full of delicious healthy fats rather than refined sugars and flours. We still munched on cake and pizza, just not in the traditional sense. Here are some of the things that I prepared as a once in a while treat for the family:

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup agave
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • no-sugar added cherry filling
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp agave

How to make it: Preheat oven to 350. Whisk the cocoa and flour before adding the salt and baking soda. In a seperate bowl, mix the wet ingredients: agave (1/2 cup), eggs and vanilla. add the wet ingredients into the dry and stir. Pour into a greased pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool. Meanwhile prepare your whipped frosting by blending the heavy cream and agave (2 tbsp) until soft peaks form. Once the cake has cooled, slice it and spoon on a layer of cherries. Ice the cake completely and decorate how you want!

Here I have prepared two different pizzas with four different toppings, but the crust recipe is the same. Cauliflower is of course the main ingredient, but I upped the numbers


  • 1 1/2 cups grated cauliflower
  • 1 cup mozarella cheese
  • 4 egg whites
  • Italian seasoning

How to make it: microwave the cauliflower for a few minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Layer onto a greased pizza pan and pat out evenly. Bake at 450 until it begins to brown. Remove and let layer on the ingredients. Bake again until the cheese melts and serve. Here I have: bacon and mushrooms, 6 Cheese, Italian sausage, and Buffalo chicken. For the Buffalo chicken I placed cream cheese, buffalo sauce, and a little butter in a saucepan on medium/high heat. Once it was all blended and smooth then I added shredded chicken breast to the mixture until it was nice and thick. This pizza half I didn’t use any tomato sauce, but just placed this dip onto of the cauliflower and sprinkled with a little bit more cheese. The topping choices are endless, so play around with flavor profiles and with your selection of veggies and protein. Enjoy!
